How Membit Works

Step 1: Contribution by Data Hunters

The process begins with our global network of Data Hunters. Through the Membit browser extension, contributors capture relevant social media posts, news articles, and other online content as they browse. This human-in-the-loop approach ensures that the data reflects meaningful and engaging topics.

Step 2: Verification and Filtering

Once submitted, the data enters Membit’s distributed infrastructure, where automated validation and AI classifiers filter out spam, duplicates, and irrelevant content. Only timely and credible information continues forward.

Step 3: Clustering and Analysis

The validated content is transformed into vector embeddings and processed with unsupervised clustering algorithms. These groups semantically related items into “discussion clusters”, representing coherent narratives. A time-decayed engagement score further prioritizes conversations that are active and contextually significant.

Step 4: API Delivery

The structured, curated context is made available through Membit’s developer-friendly API. AI developers can integrate this feed into their applications via RESTful endpoints or the MCP server, empowering agents with access to the most relevant, real-time insights.

How to Contribute as a Data Hunter

You can be a part of this. Participation is open to individuals worldwide. The process is straightforward:

1. Download the Membit extension.
2. Sign in to your X account.
3. Scroll like usual and engage with your areas of expertise and capture relevant, high-quality content.
4. Earn Points for your verified contributions.

Point System and Incentives

Membit introduces a point-based reward system to recognize and incentivize every contribution made by Data Hunters.

• Contribution Points – Each validated data submission earns points that reflect its value to the ecosystem based on these criteria:
  • Engagement: The more engaging a post is (likes, replies, etc.), the more points you’ll be rewarded.
  • Uniqueness: If multiple Data Hunters report a post, the points are shared among them. Reporting high-quality, niche content is a great way to earn more points.
  • Timeliness: The more recent a post is, the more points you’ll earn.
  • Relevance: Only posts that are included in a cluster are eligible to earn points.
• Epoch Cycles: Each epoch, you can earn up to a certain cap, which starts at 10,000 points. If you reach your cap in a given epoch, your cap for the next epoch will increase. This allows you to earn more as you contribute more. The maximum cap is 200,000 points per epoch (20x the starting cap).
• Referral Program – Invite friends to join Membit as Data Hunters and receive benefits, which will be revealed in the later announcements.

This system ensures that long-term commitment and active participation are recognized, encouraging Data Hunters to continue building value for Membit’s ecosystem. Data Ownership and Privacy

We believe that "you are your data". Privacy and transparency have been central to the design of Membit from the early stages of development.

• User Control – You choose which platforms and sources to share data from. If preferred, you may disable the Membit Data Hunter extension entirely.
• Anonymity Options – Leaderboards support pseudonymous participation, allowing contributors to engage without disclosing their identity.
